Who makes this old torpedo level?

Found this old torpedo level in a bunch of stuff my dad had lying about. Looks fairly vintage to me. No marker's mark. No COO. Totally blank. Hmm...

Anyone have an ideas as to make and year? I found what I think is a similar one on the internet that is listed as a Stanley, but you never know.

Specs: 9" L x 9/16" W x 1 1/8" D, metal is aluminum except for the two screws. Bubble levels are glass. Inside color is blue.

I've had a couple of those for years. Generic tool that hung on the hardware store wall. Might have been a Globemaster.

My first guess was to say Stanley. I should have one around my garage somewhere almost identical to it, but I'd have to do some extensive searching to find it.

Looks like the one in my Stanley catalog from 1972

I don't think that's Stanley. I don't think it's Empire or Millers Falls either.

Thanks, guys. I tried to clean it up a little by it spraying it with a hose to get the spiders off of it and and the lines came loose from the levels and some fell off. Grrrr.... Guess I'll have to repaint them back on.

The Stanleys I saw online were very similar, but with solid sides. Same blue, too. Strange that there are no marks on it whatsoever.

Those were one of the early Asian-made tools in our big box store forty years ago, IIRC. Big box being a relative term -- they weren't that big. Hard to tell from the photos, but with no makers name like Stanley, they're quite likely Japan or Taiwan back then. I remember using them as a kid and could probably find one or two just like it at the folks old house.

Looks like a "sands" brand to me.
