Just got back from the flea market and it wanted to go home with me. Guy said Napa but it does not like like a Napa product to me. Part number laser etched is 59754. Back plate reminds me of a Snap-On. The hand with the wrench is laser etched in the head. USA is stamped on the handle.

Looks like a one off type tool that didn't hit production. The only heads that look like this are snap-on and armstrong. I would guess its an armstrong, but the "arm" shows holding a wrench instead of the traditional hammer for the brand. :headscrat

When I picked it up out of a box of tools I thought Snap-On, mostly because of the wording on the plate. A little because of the on and off. Then as I was leaving I thought it could not be. Maybe Williams. I don't know Armstrong.

I'm a Craftsman guy so I would not usually buy something like that. But it was nice so I bought it.

As usual I have already taken it apart. O-ring on the drive gear and plate. 30 teeth.

I take it what looks like an 8 between the on and off is the date code. If so then 1998.

The guy I bought it from is a regular at the flea market. I have gone through the box before and did not see it before. I paid $10 for what he thought was a Napa. Wait until I see him next weekend....

Hopefully someone will recognize the laser etched hand with a wrench.

Snap-On 3/8" ratchet F830
The head/body are a dead ringer for a F830 series to me! Yours has the "updated" and strengthened lever; the original style, had a tendency to break off.

similar plate but on a 1/4" ratchet

That looks like the logo for "Wrench Force," a line of bicycle tools sold by Trek (www.trekbikes.com -- site seems to be down right now) and which usually have the label "Engineered by Snap-on."

Here's a page with the logo:

I don't think the Wrench Force tools are still being made or at least not under that name. Newer Trek tools seem to be labelled "Bontrager." Also, a local Trek dealer was unloading a lot of Wrech Force tools at clearance prices.

As I said in my original post part, number laser etched it 59754. But you also have the laser etched hand with a wrench. That is not an Armstrong symbol. I would guess it costs less to laser etch then stamp.

If it is a Chinese copy, then I want to buy more. I do have the advantage of holding this ratchet in my hands. It is nice, or I would have never had bought it.

Based on the info so far this looks like a Snap-On contract job.

The key is that someone need to ID the laser etchings.

+1

Yup, That makes sense. Snap on/Williams did make tools for Wrench Force.

I knew I saw the logo before, but I was stuck on Masterhand :lol_hitti

An example of a NOS wrench force product.

Sure looks like rochbicyclist and others figure it out.

Years ago I was looking on ebay for a low foot pound Snap-On torque wrench; even inch pounds. I found 1 or 2 that were branded Schwinn.

Yes it is a Wrench Force tool SO and Trek severed their ties several years ago. I have several screw drivers, 3/8 drive hexes and my truing stand left from there working relation ship. Trek still has old stock of some of the more odd tools that did not sell well but noting new again.

The tools some of which were merely re-label industrial finish tools with a re-label on them. Other tools they they did 'collaborate' on were quite questionable the pedal wrench was horrible problem seemed to be mostly the tempering of the tools. SO did not get the point that part are quite tight and require large amounts of force to remove. cone wrenches were another epic failure as they were intended to be professional grade too bad they only worked once or twice before giving up the ghost.
