As a long time office equipment tech, Ive worked with many, many types of screwdrivers over the years. Most of which had JIS type tips on them. I got a set of these screwdrivers from one of our suppliers years ago called Ames supply. They've since gone out of business, but they had rebranded some screwdrivers that were really great and long lasting. They are imprinted with "made in Germany" on the handles, so I'm hoping the actual manufacturer can be ID'd, so I can buy some more. Thank you. I'll link a picture i found on the web to this post.

Have you looked at Vessel JIS screwdrivers? Their tips appear to be almost indestructible and in some cases a +2 bit will double as a +1 or even a +0 in a pinch.

I have, my current fave is a Vessel Ball grip 12" #2. years of use and zero signs of wear. best JIS screwdriver i've ever used.
