its a special offer from Lidl or aldi ( low cost supermarkets from germany ) so maybe its purely aimed at the DIY sector , they do have a long guarantee but how that works in practise I don't know ,
I see plenty of Parkside stuff in distress at car boot sales ,broken plastics etc , it could be down the the type of operator that buys it, but its cheap for a reason

I still have a firestorm like that. I love it. Mine has been great. Its not the tightest........but lets face it, a fand drill is not a precice tool anyway. I use it for stuff that needs pre drilling. Mine has to be 10 years old.

We have Aldi in the US, too.

They have about a three foot section of tools that are trash.
