Is Teng making all their tools themselves? If not, who is making tools for them?

Manufactured in Taiwan. Bergman & Beving was founded in 1906 by engineers Arvid Bergman and Fritz Beving and has evolved over the last 100 years to become the home for successful brands. Teng Tools is one of those brands.

As Mr B said - all Taiwanese I think. At least it was some years back, and I don’t think the designs have changed.
Trouble is, Taiwanese tools have improved markedly over the last couple of decades, and the very best is really quite decent now.
The Teng stuff hasn’t really moved on though. They’re still peddling the same stuff they were years back, albeit heavily promoted, and it wasn’t great then.
I’m not really buying this whole “it’s Swedish” line.
Having a long memory, I can recall when Teng first appeared in the U.K. and I’m talking late 80’s here. Story was that they were Japanese, and related to the family behind Kamasa. Kamasa quality had just taken a dive at that time (switched from Japanese tools to Taiwanese, and not the best) and Teng were promoted as a substitute.
Trouble is, that was mostly bull, and Teng tools came from Taiwan. In fairness, they weren’t bad, but they weren’t Japanese. Company was based out of Taiwan if I recall correctly. Don’t recall any Swedish connection.
Then they had some rebranding, and all of a sudden were claiming to be Swedish. No doubt they are based there now. May have bought an old / dead Swedish firm, but the tools are still Taiwanese, and legend / marketing / promotion is still better than the tools!

Teng is an expensive way buy taiwan tools, you'll see lot of same rebranded, wrenches can be exact same under toptul or premier brands .
You can cherry pick better taiwan offerings for same or less money if avoid over priced & over marketed brands ...

Dave, that line in my post above was copy and pasted off the "Google" search results page when I typed in "Teng Tools".
I have no doubt the product is all being stamped out in Taiwan. Looks to me like it's only "Swedish" on paper.

I’m pretty sure of that too!
I checked their european website. I’m about right on the dates, and they were selling Taiwanese tools from a U.K. warehouse prior to launching in Sweden, as I recalled!

If it wasn't for Ed on Wheeler Dealers I doubt anybody in the world would have ever heard of Teng Tools. Which would be fine since nothing they make is particularly special. I put them in the same boat as Sonic (Not the good Sonic that has decent hamburgers and great milkshakes but the pedestrian Sonic tool company)

Overpriced shite. They're big on advertising and marketing but they're actually ****. So many better and cheaper options out there.

I got the 953HP set which is the same but with the newest 90 teeth ratchets fir 171eur a year ago. Special from a German online shop.
Fantastic set.
The HP set is on Amazon UK for £190 ish.
I bought the 3/8 and 1/2 sets from Hazet last month, or else I would have bought the above set, but I didn’t need 1/4 drive as I have good 1/4 ratchets and sockets already.
Teng is just over priced shite.
I have a 3/8 teng set, got it free (long story), but the ratchet is a pile of balls, about 40 teeth, and you could tighten a bolt in reverse gear the back drag is that high.
The sockets are nice, I prefer a satin finish, hense buying Hazet sets (I prefer Hazet to Stahlwille in sockets, knurling is far better), but the same can be had, for far less money. As said, Sealey premier, toptul…. I have a Sealey Premier 3/8 socket set, which is about 14 years old, and is still as good as the day my dad bought it for me.

What a joke. Their tools are such cheap junk. I have a couple of their adjustable tap sockets and they're not very good. Their ratchets are horrible cheap junk, sockets and extensions are cheap junk with a poor surface finish. Just awful.
Hazet and Stahlwille actually aren't very expensive, i buy more and more from them lately.

Yes, those “factory specials” are fantastic deals.
I‘ve got that exact set. I got an even better deal as I got it a few years ago, just as the new ratchets came out. The combination of 1/4” and 1/2” drive in the same box works really well.
That was the first 1/4” drive Hazet I bought, and I was really impressed with the fit and rigidity of the parts. I bought some more since, despite not really needing more 1/4” drive!

I know this is a year old, not sure what the "cutoff" is on replies. I was searching for Teng and saw this, and thought, why not provide some input. I have only a few Teng Tools, I have a 1/4 drive spinner handle (the one that is basically an extension with a molded handle on it) and a few of their spark plug sockets.
I like the spinner handle as it can take a drive tool (ratchet, breaker bar, etc) on the handle end, which makes it very useful Other brands do this as well, but it is not the norm from what I found. The price was fair compared to the others I looked at, in range, about $10 if I recall. I like the feel and size of it, which was one of the reasons I chose it over the Williams option, did not like the handle. Fair price, fair tool, nothing special.
The spark plug sockets were again a fair price, I paid approx $8 each for the ones I have. I consider this a fair price as it is only about $2 more than a Chinese made Craftsman. I like them, honestly, due to the finish of them. They do not really perform and better or worse then any other plug sockets I have. So again, I would say fair price for fair tools.
Now, I need to agree with what others said. I looked at other Teng Tools and most got disqualified due to price. I have no problems with the tools from them I have, but they are not anything I would pay a premium for, so as long as I find a good deal (Amazon has those often), I would consider a purchase. Looking at the price of say a set of sockets though that I looked at, no. Too expensive.

So the founders name is Tengvall but they decided to come up with the BS warriors story.I’m pretty sure of that too!
