Wow, it's an honor. Thank you, for writing an indelible article that depicted the sentiment of the everyday mechanic and tool enthusiast. That would be my article. I was gonna post it in the truck tool equivalent thread as it covers a bunch of items not previously mentioned there.
Thanks for sharing![]()
That would be my article...
No! The Snap-On versions are all made of the super duper bestest steel in the whole wide world. They're cold-forged by Santa's elves at the North Pole!
They only look exactly the same as the others.

I knew it was comingGreat piece. Two suggestions:
1) It might be worth mentioning that Lang makes often-rebranded snap ring pliers as well, including the switchable internal/external style.
2) The Klein-style cushion grip pliers pictured in the article were actually made by Pratt-Read. The Western Forge equivalents are this style (which are pretty much the same as the Husky Pro handles but with a different grip).

I should add. I think the NAPA PRO line, and Carlyle tools are great. Our store recently cleared out all the Evercraft. Its obvious the NAPA pro stuff is rebranded, but it is good quality. The Carlyle tools seem to be in a class of thier own..I think Apex?
