Apparently me. Lost a 1/4" M12 driver to the lake. Working on an icemachine on a boat dock, dropped the tool, it bounced and went right through the one gap in the netting.:(
Oh well, it's been replaced and lesson learned. Any bets it'll still work if a diver finds it?

We rehabbed a pedestrian bridge over the river here in town and the city required that all employees had to wear life jackets and all the tools had to have lanyards attached. The guys dropped some hardware in the water and they had to go in and retrieve it before we got paid.

I have an M18 fuel 1/4 driver that was completely submerged for a few minutes. It still works, with some quirks. Sometimes you have to smack the **** out of it on a hard surface to make is work, and sometimes it won't switch between speeds unless you take the battery off and reinstall it.

Fresh or salt?

Used to put together kits of new tools for guys to head out and commission yahts at the marina (didn't want them showing up to put curtains on your $2M boat with old drills!). Crew heads back, goes to check in the tools and told me they lost one overboard.

About 6 months later I hear the upholstery guy talking about how great this drill he saw from the dock, dove in and brought up has been working.

Freshwater OK, salt probably not.

Yeah but saltwater corrodes metals a zillion times faster than freshwater. It might work but if you didn't take it apart and clean it up real good probably not for very long.

Anywho, OP shows from Conway Arkansas so doubtful that's a concern. This time of year I'd have took a swim in lake Conway for it if I saw right where it went in.

Yep, it's in fresh water, Table Rock lake. About 30 feet deep. never been a very good swimmer, so not worth it to me. If it was lake Conway I could probably wade around and find it.....while avoiding the rattle mouth copper moccasins.

Ah, I luv Table Rock lake. Been there many many times.

Seeing as Table Rock is a few hours drive from Conway AR, probably not even worth a magnet fishing attempt unless you head back there regularly.
