A little info on this one please.

It's an old craftsman 26". Bought it 15 years ago. I paid for it working at mcdicks in the weekends. Apparently it was only sold in canada? Don't quote me on that but a fellow GJ member mentioned it.

I still have the first toolbox I ever bought, a Craftsman hand box with drawers. I keep safety, gloves and medical supplies in it, and it lives on one of the inside corners on my U-shaped workbench. I don't really have any emotional attachment to it; it's just a container that became inadequate, like a hermit crab's shell.

My first toolbox!

Given to me by my dad about 14 years ago (?)....

It actually just got a completely new paint job and a set of Colsons a few weeks ago!

All three are Waterloo Manufactured, stamped "1992".

My first toolbox was a UK made cantilever. That was stolen from work while I was away on vacation. Knew who did it, couldn't prove it.
Replaced that with another cantilever, but it was a rare *double wide* version. Outgrew that & sold it to a friend. It was replaced with a 3 drawer SnapOn chest which I still have. Not sure what year it was, I'll look at the date on it & find out.
Since then I have added a 41in stainless Hammerhead upper & lower (mech tools), stainless Torin upper & lower (sheet metal tools), stainless Kobalt 3 drawer chest (not used), 3 vintage Craftsman lowers (welding, vintage tools & one awaiting resto), 2 4ft Seville classics (one autobody/paint, one auto detailing) stainless Steel Glide tool cart (sheetmetal tools), 1 Gerstner (used for layout/measuring stuff).
The old SnapOn is used just for masking & lining tape these days.
There are also a few hand portable boxes (Kennedy x3, Craftsman, Union etc)

& the MAC tools lower that I use in the kitchen (resto was documented on here).

holy **** I have a lot of tool boxes.

I've got the Kennedy hiproof that I bought for my first job. That was in 1965. It's held up well, and it's in a lot better shape than I am. Were bought now reeeetired. It's got a tag on it with one of the grandsons names on it.

Bought this Proto in 72, used for $80. It came with af 1/2" SK Wayne socket set and a bunch of misc wrenches etc. I bought the C-man riser sometime afterward. I use them for storing o-rings, cotter pins, other shop supplies and extra tools that I'm trying to make into sets etc. It's a low end catch-all. I can't see getting rid of it. I have a small shop with very little space. I figure tool boxes make room by keeping things arranged neatly where you can get at them, stacked up against a wall.

dad gave me my very 1st real toolbox, late 60's CM machinists box, when i started my apprenticeship in '76.
it was gifted to a friend around '79

my 1st CM roller cab literally fell apart about the same time.

the kennedy mechanics and machinists boxes i bought after that, were traded in to SO in '86 on a KR550/555b set.

i still have those boxes.

Surprised no one brought up the shake weight in the picture :wtf: really lol that is one thing that I would not want sitting next to any of my tool chests, but I also would never own one. made me think of the south park episode making fun of the shake weight.

Yea, it's a Canadian version. Craftsman through I believe Beach put out some cool and different boxes for the Canadian market vs us poor saps south of the border. :lol_hitti

Never really thought about the box until I posted a pic here. It's been so neglected for years, I think I'll clean it like crazy this weekend and re organize my old tools.

My first box of any kind...Dad gave it to me when I was 14 or so. Don't know what brand it is, but he got it in college (early 70s) in used condition. It's my road box now.

Still got my RCA Victor tube case from 1977 when I worked at KIEM TV in Eureka, Ca in the engineering dept. Weekends working as a board operator airing tv commercials, playing the Lawrence Welk show on the biggest tape player, the reels were a foot across, tape 3” wide. Played all the old soap operas, the edge of night, days of our lives, general hospital and all my children which The tape got jumbled and I had to go public announcement. The phone lines lit up like xmas! Anyway it’s in very good shape and has been repurposed for the household.

Well, my very FIRST Craftsman crown top box given to me by my dad was stolen, but I do still have the first Snap-On roll front 'Roll-Away' I purchased when I was 17...so that makes it 47 years old! Even though I only use it to store tools that are rarely used, I'll never part with it.

Oh I wish...

An uncle made me a kids carpenter tool box, but years later while I was in basic training my sister took it to the dump (tools and all) because it was "cluttering up the garage" (they're still trying to find the body:D)

My first tool box was an old ammo can that fit in the tire well of the rattle trap I drove to college. It's still around here somewhere.

First toolbox, a Craftsman hinged top box with tray, turned to rust years ago and is long gone. Lots of memories went with it.
