Before I could afford Snap-On, MAC, etc, KD/NAPA sockets was my first choice. Tinkering on my own car at home today & using my KD tools got me to thinking & remembering how much I used them when starting out in the trade, and how KD rarely let me down.

So, who else uses KD/NAPA brand and what is your opinion about them?

I have one NAPA socket...a 21mm 1/2" dr impact. I've had it for 15+ years, no complaints.

I have several KD/Danaher/NAPA ratchets that are just hunky-dory, I don't own any "old" KD, just a couple of wrenches that are obviously Danaher production. I like Danaher tools, and prefer their ratchets to my Snap-On, I just like the way they feel.

I was at NAPA the other day talking to the guys behind the counter; it seems pretty obvious as of late that Danaher makes most of their stuff at this point. The good experiences you guys are having is it a earlier OEM then the current Danaher tools? When did Danaher start making their tools and who made their tools earlier? I just swapped out a Evercraft 3/8" ratchet and they gave me a new one; the old one was skipping/binding; it is made in Taiwan with a lifetime warranty. They replaced the tool without much fuss; I just asked them if they could do anything and after asking each other what to do, gave me a new one after signing a receipt. I guess the Evercraft line is their lower end economy line of tools and the NAPA tools are made in USA.

Beware K/D... used to be a really good name for tools... now it is still a good name, but much of their stuff is from Taiwan. Not the end of the world, but don't think that you are getting USA made goods from K/D like you used to...
