I need someone to build me a workshop.

I'm thinking 40x60x12 on 6" concrete.

In Sullivan County, NY, but not far at all from Ulster and Orange counties.

Is anyone on this board that is interested in the job?

I've got good sources for concrete, and wood, and I can (at your option), work with you (I just don't have the experience, knowledge, skill, strength or time to do it myself).

Thank you,

Joseph

My guess is that few, if any, of the building contractors in Sullivan County, NY, are on the GJ.

It's up to you to go out and find them.

If you pose the question if anyone in or around Sullivan County, NY, has a recommendation for a contractor you might get a response, hopefully a positive one.

THAT is a great size! Good luck. You might want to consider setting those 12' studs on a small stem wall....6"....12" or so. It will give you a better option down the road for a lift. That's my immediate thought.

I admit it -- I didn't know what a stem wall was. Now, thanks to your suggestion, I do.

And, from what I learned about it in a few minutes of online research, it sounds like a wise suggestion.

Thank you!

I have had so many phone calls and emails with you and your partner that I am shocked by your statement.

Yes, it has been a few weeks since we last spoke. It is not too much to ask that you understand I have plenty of other things going on in my life and needed more time to consider all the many, many variables of your quote and compare with other quotes.

But why the attempt at the public shaming? Because I didn't respond to you as quickly as you wanted?

I know that I have not done anything disrespectful to you, but I am sorry you feel disrespected.

However, an attempt at publicly shaming me leaves me feeling quite disrespected.

Oooooops ....I can see where this is headed.:see::lol: IBTL

Sorry to disappoint, but I won't be engaging in any further online dialog about this interaction.

I'm sure Chris has his point of view, and he might very well choose to express it further here in this public forum, but I will not.

I want to wish you good luck on your future project and welcome you here on GJ. I have a 40x60 garage and love it. I wonder what I would do without it as you will soon learn. Happy Garaging...

There is so much information on the internet......by manufacturers (not you-tube) that you can confidently build a garage, house or a boat. Do some research and have a go. !
Watch you-tube for amusement and a bit of an idea...remember most of them are having a go as well.
Nothing like doing it yourself !

Yeah, posting up here wasn't the right thing to do and my apologies. I should not have done that. For the record I never said that you said anything disrespectful to us nor do I feel disrespected in any way in fact both my partner and I were quite pleased with the opportunity to work with you on this project and based on our conversations you seem like a great guy. If anything I was just surprised and perhaps a bit disappointed that our recent attempts to follow up with you have gone unanswered. I apologize for any issues this may have caused and do wish you all the best on your project. Thanks.
