I have a metric set of stubby Bench Top wrenches and a 1/2 in Bench Top ratchet that I have used as a beater one for over 12 years. It wont stop. I use it for attaching a cheater bar or beating it with a hammer. Don't want to do that to my Snappy.

I forgot to add I also have the standard metric Bench Top wrench set.

I've got a set of ratcheting box end wrenches and a set of deep sockets from K-Mart, still with the metal tray. Anyone have a Bernz-O-Matic socket set?

Damn-I swear I just saw a socket set this afternoon on Milwaukee or surrounding area CL, but it appears to be gone. Guess you're not the only one...

It's me. My grandfather had some K-Mart tools that I inherited. I've found them to be fun and cheap to collect since there appears to be little interest in them.

Don't worry though! I'm always on the hunt for IH tools.

Do you have a pic of your Benzo-O-Matic socket set? I think Indestro made them.

I think this is funny, when all 16 years old I bought a set of metric and SAE Kmart ratchet wrenches. They were plastic on the outside with chrome sides and were stamped KMC on the side. I still have them in a miscellaneous wrench drawer. There is one broken one though.

I bought a set of 1/4 inch bench top in 1998, To this day I am still using that set everyday for tear downs, I reach for it over a Snap On most of the time, amazing how well that little set has held up. I know its crazy but I dont think I would even trade it for a SO or Mac set.

Mine is some kind of reddish brown. Has a big sticker on the inside of the lid saying what all comes in it.

Yep, I think the sticker even says Kmart on it.
I have the same thing. I bought it about 1992.
I was visting my wifes aunt in another state and I needed a spark plug socket with ratchet. I had no tools in the car.
I carried it in the car for quite awhile but it now is sitting in my dads barn where I store some stuff in case I need to turn something there.

A Benchtop Pro 3/8ths ratchet was the one that made a little light go on that Crapsman ratchets absolutely ****. Still one of my fav's, I wonder who made them?

Sorry, no pics right now, but the set I have was made in Taiwan. Got it as a gift from my future wife in 1978. Still have the wife, and most of the set...broke one socket, and lost an extension. Came in a red metal case. My 3/8 ratchet looks very similar to Boro Boy's.

Those ratcheting wrenches are the same as mine. Don't remember buying them, but they've been handy.

My apologies to the OP for hijacking the thread on the Bernz-O-Matic stuff.

Me too.... and it's actually my favorite and most used.
is that "custom" plasti dipped handles or is that how they came?

my main set was bought at walmart in about 2000 and my "popular mechanics" brand ratchets are the exact same as those....minus the blue rubber handles...unless he just dipped those. not fine tooth but they held up i think mine are marked taiwan

I have a number of Bench Top tools that I purchased in the 90s that I'm quite fond of. My 3/8" flex head ratchet is a beast. The screwdrivers are Snap On clones and are still my most frequently used. My dad has the same ratchet and screwdrivers, along with another screwdriver with an integrated nut/striker at the end of the handle. He also has a 1/2" socket set that he constantly uses on his impact gun without issue. Another Bench Top "must have" in my tool box is a 1/4" socket driver/extension that came in a small socket set. It's my "go to" 1/4" extension.

It's a real shame that this stuff isn't still available.
