Ah come on!! From what I read there's plenty of wrench polishers on this forum who'd go for that type of stuff. :lol_hitti :lol_hitti

I've got a gold plated Stanley claw hammer I won as a high school carpentry trophy, and I'm going to start using it to drive nails with, so I can show a little class in my workmanship.

I guess I'm one of those "wrench polishers" myself, :( since I love old Mac, Snap On, Bonney, Proto, Plomb, SK, and other vintage USA-made tools. And I have to admit that I have many more vintage USA-made tools than I could ever actually "use" at any one time. But in this case, I don't personally want a gold-plated impact. Just my preference.

On the other hand, I often wonder why some folks who make fun of "tool collectors and polishers" will themselves rush out to buy an expensive brand new screwdriver set every time Snap On introduces a new "rare" color? Boy, what a great sales promotion idea that was from the Snap On sales and marketing team!

But, let's face it. In the end, we should all buy and enjoy whatever tools we really like/want/need to please ourselves....as long as we can afford it...regardless of what other guys think.

To each his own. I'm still loving my old collection of tools, even though most of them are not-yet-polished.
