I found one of these on Cl for $750. I'm still waiting on the guy to send me the date on the name plate to see about how old it is. I'm curious if the claimed 23cfm is legit. If so, and it's not too old, I think I'm gonna snag it.

I believe Campbell Hausfield makes these for Home Depot...at least the ones I've salvaged/fixed were.

You could also check with them to see what info they can give you...

I've been running a 80 gallon Husky Pro for about 8-10 years, without a single issue. In the instructions, they said for heavy duty use to use Mobil 1 oil in the pump, so I did and it has many, many hours on it. Mine looks a little different from the model shown and mine is a Campbell-Hausfeld unit.

C-H online chat person was very helpful last week & even sent a replacement plastic ferrule to replace the one I wore out by repeated disassembly of the compressor to tank line (don't ask!).

I seem to get better customer service by contacting by email or chat. That seems to reach a different caliber of agent. That also lets me keep a copy of the conversation. As AMXxToolAholicxX, and I can attest, Mac phone people wanted $$$ for a ratchet rebuild kit. Email agent simply wanted model number and shipping address.

I ran a CH gas driven comp that looked pretty close to the same. It would blow the intercooler line between the high and low pressure cylinders once in a while (about $100 I think). I was a good unit and every bit of 23 cfm.

The shop I work at has one. It is a complete *************. I would not recommend it, But it is a "v" style compressor.

Thanks for the opinions. I found out from the guy yesterday that it is a 2004 model. And has been used in a cabinet shop since new dedicated to run 3 drill presses (I did not know there were pneumatic drill presses???), and the water drained twice a week religiously. I could only talk him down to $700. But a brand new one is $2k. I hope to pick it up on Thursday morning.
