Who's worked on a Milwaukee Sawzall?

Had this one given to me because the previous owner couldn't get the switch resolved. Would like to get it working again considering it's vintage and where it's made.

Really surprised at this switch design. Seems like they could have done better?

Look at this old letter from 2003. I can't seem to find a compatible switch anywhere. I'd take a generic or retrofit at this point.

Cardboard internals? The switch issue may have to do with that bent metal tab in the center of the switch and that strange loose piece on the table.

I’m. Ot certain about this saw, but a huge number of Milwaukee tools, and tools crom oth manufacturers like Dewalt, got recalled at one point to some inherent design flaw in a switch that was manufactured by Eaton.

Looks like the Cobbler has a solution. My suggestion was to figure out what other Milwaukee tools use that switch and look for a donor tool on Ebay, pawnshop, Craigslist, etc. Used corded sawzalls don't seem to bring much.

The link above is sold out. Still looking. Debated calling Milwaukee but figured that would be hopeless.

In the past I've had really good results from Milwaukee service dept. I'd give them a call.
