Anyone that has had to face an AK 47 in battle has a respect for things made in China. No one on this forum lives without China products.(Designed in Russia)
Remember that China is now our landlord. I saw a show on tv where a family tried to give up chineese products ,but it was impossible .I personally like the cheaper prices and have found value in them. Does not make me less patriotic for dam sure. There is a place for them in our lives. Before China it was Japan. Consumers want the best value. What you consider value is a private matter.

The AK-47 is a Russian design.
It was intentionally designed with loose tolerances to make it more reliable, at a cost of less accuracy.
Translation: difficult to mess up, in production or in use.

There's probably more quality in a good 3/8" ratchet.

Think about that when your flying and you realize that your mechanic got a good deal on the bolts that hold the prop on.

Public perception of value has plummeted, we've replaced durable goods with disposables on the premise that more is better.

The Chinese had nothing to do with AK design or production until they copied it. Wanting something made in the USA isn't always because of quality either. Take a look at the economy, it got there because fewer and fewer things are produced in the states. So your choice to support chinas economy over your own most definitely makes you less of a patriot. 95% of people looking for goods do not want value, they are just cheap asses. Yes, it is very hard to live with only buying american made goods, but if everybody made a little bit of an effort to buy domestically produced goods then it wouldn't be so hard. It just takes a bit more money and effort than most people are willing to invest. But you have fun pretending to be a patriot with your American flags made in China.
