If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Instead of bellyaching about SnapOn being overpriced you could buy SnapOn stock, it's publicly trade (Ticker: SNA) and be an owner. Buy now and you get it 'on sale.'

How much Debt has Sears carried to create that "10X's the Revenue"? Being Bigger isn't always better and the Big Question that ill let you answer for the community, How much Income after operating expense did that Revenue get them?
Don't forget to use the ($$$) so there isn't any confusion.. LOL They are losing Cash/Assets at such a rate its just a matter of time, That's only my Opinion.

OK... Seriously lets be Freaking Honest here, Where do you think those comparisons are coming from? It would be a pretty lame argument to try and convince someone that $130 dollar ratchets is better than a $17 ratchet, It should be.. So who is picking on who again? And we are talking about tools correct?

I like the Snap-On dead blow hammers. They work better than any other brand out there.
True story. I was at the junkyard like 40 years ago when you all were just twinkles in your daddy's eye, trying to bust loose a stubborn rusted valve cover nut off a mid-90's Honda Civic. At first I used a HF dead blow hammer slogging on an HF ratchet. I know what you're thinkin' -- wrong tool idiot. Anyway, I broke the hammer.
Said **** it.
Called my Snap-On guy and he showed up in 12 minutes on the dot with exactly a Snap-On FHOF80 (best ratchet ever made) and a Snap-On model HBFE32 dead blow hammer (best dead blow hammer ever made). I didn't use the ratchet at first because, well you all know how I like to keep my tools nice and polished, so I decided to just use the hammer alone. Busted that little M10 nut off so fast I couldn't believe it.
I have a Snap-On tattoo now. ;-)

Yup, just ******* around trying to keep things interesting. Mostly poking fun at the guys with the stories about how they tried using sooo many tools before finally the Snap-On tool heroically saved their day. I like bantering with everyone here.. I was wondering who'd be the first to catch it.

Nope not a typo. It is a 5 in socket used on a hydraulic wrench. It is used to torque the bolts that hold the blades onto the propeller shaft on of a ship. Its been a few years, but if I remember correctly the torque spec is 4500 lbs.
I wasn't actually on the truck. He had to stop and pick it up at his warehouse. I guess when you service an area that has as many ships as Hampton Roads thinks like this do pop up occasionally and its good to be prepare. I don't think he drove around with one as part of his normal inventory.
I also don't see it in Snap On's normal catalog. Special order maybe?
Just one minor problem with that story. Harbor freight didn't exist until '77.
Retail store didn't open til '80. So HF didn't exist 40 years ago. And a 's 90 civic wouldn't have existed 40 years ago. Just saying....

I like my snap on tools. Also like my sk tools. Thoroughly enjoy my gp tools. I get by with the few hf tools that I have too.

By the time a 1995 Honda would need to have the valve cover removed, and to deal with a rusted on nut, would make it considerably less than 20 years ago. Certainly not the 40 years you claimed, when the rest of us were twinkles in our daddy's eye (which was >70 years ago, for me).
You sold your credibility too cheap.
