I have a feeling that, if you continue to look, you will eventually hit the deal you seek.

Five bucks for a Wilton??? That's highway robbery.

sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bugg!
Can't get all the deals,
I'm still waiting for one of the vintage "retirement lights" for a few dollars.
may never happen.
I was next in line, 10-15 years ago, guy knew I was buying Stanley planes sometimes,
He said, "Oh You missed one, , I just sold a plane, guy gave me the money, and left in a hurry.
He said, he asked the wife, "IDK, $4.00 ok, she said yeah, that's OK I guess". Said it was in good shape...........(no, it was not a #1.........lol,)
.
OK, it was a # 2...........................I was SICK!!

Got to admit, $5.00 was one hell of a steal, (I mean deal) on the vise.
I'm supposed to be the windshield this weekend if the deal goes through.
stay tuned.........................

So, how is LetItGo any different from eBay using BuyItNow and LocalPickupOnly? (I'm assuming that's how LIG works since the ads always show face-to-face cash transactions)
Hard to believe it's got more users.
Also, if it really is face-cash-local only, how long before it attracts the same loonies that populate CraigsList?

That vise? I'd pass. It has those tall jaws - makes it so unstable you have to bolt it down or it'll just fall over. Not worth the effort.:bounce:

Sometimes a deal fall into you lap. I've gotten a few small and midsize ones. A friend's brother got an amazing one last year. Answered an add for a Snapon top and bottom out in the boonies. Lady said he was the only one that had called. Probably because it was so far out. She sent him pics and said she would take $1700 for both. When he got there it was still loaded with tools. She said it was her husband's who had passed away. The $1700 was for all and that included the tools. He said he thought he was going to break the springs in that 1/2 ton once it was loaded. Now he has a 1 ton dually. He wouldn't say what he did with that but I'm pretty sure it got traded for that truck since he was unemployed at the time.

LetItGo and OfferUp are Craigslist competitors. However, they require a Facebook account to join (less fake that way), and have dedicated security staff that actually work with police departments when they call for an issue. Most of the time with no warrant required.

Letitgo does not require facebook...just an email address

There are a lot of knuckleheaded prices at yard/garage sales. I once saw a dude loading up 3 small Honda motorcycles in the back of his truck -- a Honda 50 Mini Trail, and 2 Honda Trail 70's all in nearly mint shape. As I was walking up to the yard sale.

"Ah, I missed the Honda mini bikes", I said casually. A few minutes of conversation, and I found out he sold all 3 to the guy for $150. He originally wanted at least $75 each, he said, but the guy talked him down. I told him I would've peeled him off $1,000 on the spot, kept one of the Mini Trail 70's, and then sold the other 2 for at least $1,500 or more.

Can't fix stupid. 10 seconds of Google would've told him he had a goldmine. He even had titles for the bikes. I need to pick one of these up. They're street legal. Be fun to ride it around our small town on errands.

Occasionally you'll see some cool older bikes leaning against the dumpsters at the village trash facility. I once got a decent Suzuki Shuttle moped there.

Do a lot of you use Reddit? I never have. What about that "let it go" commercial? Is that legit ?

I use Reddit a lot. I like it because when someone responds to your comment you get a notification and your conversation stays together, rather than like traditional forums where comments just appear in chronological order. Plus with only one account you can discuss pretty much any topic you want with all of the subreddits, rather than having to have accounts on a bunch of different forums.

As far as LetGo and OfferUp, yes they are legit, but they aren't perfect. Letgo's search function is **** and they don't have product categories. OfferUp functions much better, but I do get spam messages on there every now and then.
