found this thing for the price of the change in my pocket.
i'm sure there is a perfectly good reason i need to own one of these, but i don't know why.
what is this thing?

Because you either don't have one or you don't have enough of them. May be for gauge thickness

Rowe has made them for decades and it was always the best wrench. He also makes wheel truing stands (I've had one for many years). Make Harley heavy service equipment like crank assembling jigs etc.
Mr. Rowe was a nice man too and no johnny-come-lately to the motorcycle tool biz. I hope he's still around.
