The question I am simply asking why does people steal there bosses or co-workers tools:dunno::mad::sad:?

I am mostly paitncet it would take a lot to get angry.

The reason I am asking the question is because a company I did short term work who I enjoyed working which specilise at agri machainery & plant equipmnent  but the boss told me I can use his own tools which was roughly 75% Snap On tools never used any Snap On tools. The boss has his own range of diagnotisc equipment, power tools, anything you need do the job he has it if he did not have he would get very quickly,

Any tool I did not have I could have for a loan for a short term if I was doing any job at home on the side, but their was a worker who worked for the firm would assucse me taking any tools went missing even though I did not take the tools which I am buy any tools I borrow more than 5 to 6 times,

Was the ex co-worker was trying to get me in the firms bad books,If the boss wanted to do a major call outs with the firm the ex co-worker would want me to help him in the workshop instead he would start giving abuse if I did not give him any tool Snap On. When the owner started asking about his beloved Snap On tools, The ex co-worker would buy cheap tools then spray the tools chrome than would scribe Snap On spanners them till one the owner of the firm one his angle grinders in the ex co-workers.

Sorry for the long read & all the bad spelling which was a never strong point unfornolty.

Some employees are just scumbags with no morals. Some try to justify it by claiming their boss doesn't pay them what they are worth. In the end, they are just scumbags!

X2 on this...

Sounds to me like one or more of these scumbags stole these tools and just wanted to place the blame on you so they could go on working there and steal some more...
I never understood work-place thieves..

Re: Why does people steal there bosses tools?

Hey man, I dont know how old you are, but Ive been there and done that, if you are young you will understand as you get older that there are sumbitches at every job. Some that talk chit all day, some that will do anything to avoid work, and some that steal. Unfortunately, its a fact of life.

You may think, I dont care if they steal from work, it doesnt affect me.

Dont fool yourself, the thieves at work will blame the theft on you or anybody else that they think they can. If you cant prove you DIDNT steal whatever is missing, your a$$ could be in a sling.

Cover your a$$. Dont put up with B$ and report any suspicious behavior to the bosses. Yeah, you may be called a snitch, or worse, but Momma and your babies dont care about your bull-chit probs at work, as long as the bills get paid!!!!

Just be sure you can blow off the bad guys at work if they find out you snitched, maybe a pistol in your pocket with a CCW, or they may give you chit that you cant handle.

Am I saying to be a snitch if you find somebody stealing from the company at work? Hell yeah. Those thieving sumbitches will blame you if they can and dont care if you get your a$$ in a crack, so why should you care what happens to them?

They will blame you if they can and watch your a$$ go to jail for something they did. $crew that. Turn them in.

people steal for the same reason dogs eat trash... they either aren't fed right or they weren't raised right.

We had one at work. Most of the guys left their boxes open all the time. When this crook started, they learned to lock up really fast. The owners said he couldn't and wouldn't do such a thing......

...until his started disappearing too. It was even worse when he'd bring his thieving family into the shop on weekends. They let this ****** have a key to the building. Tons of stuff went missing. He took my service truck out ONCE and 2 rails of deep sockets went away. Boss said I must have lost them.

Hopefully, you wil find this story entertaining...............
When I was 18, I got my first job as a mechanic at a local CITGO station, (circa 1972).I was working with a older man in his fifties named Frank, who was a new employee himself. (The owner of the station had known me for years, so I was a known quantity to him; Frank was a stranger.) Frank and I worked together well. He seemed like a nice guy. The owner never came in on Saturdays, so Frank and I both had keys and would open up the station. One Saturday, after about three weeks, Frank told me that the boss was allowing him to borrow the engine lift, and would I help him get to his house. After work, we loaded it up and took it to his house, down in the city. Fast forward to Monday morning......... I show up for work, and cops are everywhere. The owner is there and he is stomping around, very upset. Someone had broken into the shop the night before and stolen a bunch of stuff. A window as broken. We were wandering around, trying to notice what was taken. The interesting thing was that whoever did this stealing was a genius. The more we looked, the more stuff was gone. But it was not readily apparent. When you look in the tool boxes, it seemed to be all there, but you open up a box in a drawer, and it was full of rocks. The parts room only had items on shelves one deep, when there had been half a dozen behind it before. It was obvious that it was an inside job and had been going on for weeks. Just then, the owner notices that the engine lift is missing, and wonders how they got out through the broken window. I told him that it wasn't stolen; that Frank had it. The boss went ballistic and figured out that Frank had set him up and was stealing all this stuff. He tried to give the police an address, but it turned out to be fake. The cops leave, and I remember that I had been to his house. I tell the boss and he says, "Let's go". He pulls a .38 revolver from the desk and he and I head to town with the tow truck, looking for trouble. At 18, I think this is a great adventure.
We get down there and everything is gone. Frank and his family have disappeared. They stripped this house bare. They took all the light bulbs, fixtures, door knobs, everything. It was as though locusts had been there. The boss started stomping around and screaming about the damned gypsies. That was my first exposure to gypsies. They had planned to rip the station off all along. They did an amazing job of stealing all that stuff. They never did got caught. And we never really know who they were...............

The working man's code is "Don't Snitch". But it's not snitching when the thief is stealing from your pay check.

I had some employees stealing from my business. Their fellow employees knew who was doing the stealing but wouldn't "snitch". Come Christmas I told the crew "I hope your fellow employees that were stealing this year get your kids something nice for Christmas because they stole your bonus".
