So you don't love all tools? I just can't figure why ANY color is a big deal. My tools are for using, not status or fashion.

When I was young, I spent a lot of time with my late Father, who just LOVED to work with his hands!
At age 10, I 'helped' him restore a 1963 OPEL convertible from the ground up.
After that, I was hooked...............................................

I would change this to...tools are the difference between "I can do that" and I would have to pay...and pay ....and pay again, for someone else to do it

X2!! but you surley didn't say that when you first started working on things, like re-packing the crank bearings on a bmx bike

i just like all the purty colors :eyecrazy:

but then again it's hard to tell what color anything is when it's covered in grease, oil, and dirt.

I don't love them, I use them. When there is a job I can't do with the tools I have I dig into my wallet, see what I have and try to find a decent tool for the bucks.

I dont really love them either but I love the feeling of going to the shop and using the tools to repair something that would otherwise be thrown away or having to pay someone else to do the job for me. How is that for a run-on sentence? LOL

They make me money. And i love the look on peoples faces when they are particularly nosey and ask how much certain stuff cost and i tell them '***'. Told one girl that my one rack of wrenches cost more than her two vehicle payments a month. She just told me she could never be married to me :D

I love tools. I love the idea that with them and a little skill, anything can be fixed. I love the fact that sometimes you can use tools for things other than their designed intention. I love the organization of them and the process of putting them back. Most of all I like that I can always get more.

Remember the day you got your toolbox? Tool lovers spend the better part of a day moving everything in, placing things exactly where they want them, and maybe rearranging them again as they load more tools in. I'm not someone to stare at their tools to gain inspiration on what to do/build/fix next, but whatever it is, it will revolve around the tools I have, unless I "need" to buy something new. Then I get to spend some time looking into the different tools like that which are out there. I absolutely love having the right tool for the job, partly because I'm lazy and it will go easier, and partly because I just love having that thing to use.

Want to know something funny? Look in your kitchen, and you'll find may similarities between the instruments in there and the tools we have in the garage.

Without tools where would mankind be? Matched with a superior brain and opposable thumb, tools elevated man to the top of the animal kingdom. The first tools were used to hunt, harvest and protect. How can you not love them? Yesterday I spent and hour looking at old craftsman tools at an estate sale looking for any tool that I didn't already have multiple examples of. It was all I could do not be buy them all to restore and give a loving home.

I don't know any experience more frustrating than trying to do a job with the WRONG tool. Life is just better when you are using the right tool for the job. So, that means your gonna have lots of tools. Simple.

My wife and kids don't always understand. "Why do you have so many tools?" they constantly ask.

'Cause down the road I'm gonna need 'em. Don't know when, don't know why, but on a cold winter night when the furnace just went out, you're goning to be really glad that we don't need to make a service call to get some warm back in the house.

That's what I know.

It is in all of us, it is about how you use them. My first tool I became aware of was my finger to pick my nose, then I started playing with another tool down below a bit. Fast forward, after my finger nail kept breaking for other purposes, I graduated to screwdrivers, the rest is history and I'm still screwing around.

Love tools, they are anti-aggravation devices. Can't imagine spending hours chiseling out a main beam for a pipe when I have a Zawsall.
Originally stone age man got laid more often with the use of tools, as he was a better provider. With today's modern man it may be the opposite, as he spends to much money/time on tools, the wife gets pissed.

I can not explain it some people go ape **** over cars, clothes, jewelry, homes boats, art work, food, liqueur, etc; but I love tools...

I was watching a show and some women loved baby dolls, she had so many that her house was filled from top to bottom with baby dolls, she even ate dinner with them. Is she crazy well I don't know, all I know is that she loves baby dolls like I love tools; with the one exception I don't eat with my tools at the table and my house is not filled with them.
