Why does everybody love Snap-on GREEN stuff???

Seriously, that's all it is - people just buy whatever they can in whatever color they like as is available.

Personally, I prefer dark green much more than the bright green shades. I'm still ticked off they discontinued the Green Micah on roller boxes.

I have a set of green picks. Looks nice, easy to see and different from all the red. that said they are dirty. The only ones I care too much about are a 3/8 and 1/4 hard handle SO ratchet in orange I have. I only care because I try and keep them clean for interior or in house work.

^^this. my toolbox, carts, bench and most of my tools are orange because it's my favorite color. Always has been. Hell, my shop is a shade of orange!! I like the bright green as well and a few tools of that color have been creeping into my tool box.

That being said, there was a period a few years back that green wasn't as available as the other colors and like anything, the more scarce it is, the more people want it and the more they're willing to pay for it.

Couldn't care less about color. I have green screwdrivers , red torx drivers , red panel / hooks
In small picks I have red, longer are orange seal /o-ring remover are orange. Pliers are a mix of red and orange. I just buy what I need and what's in stock. Oh. Forgot about ratcheting screw drivers. I have orange regular size and black long shank. Black and orange t-handles. And red/black soft grip. I have zero color preference.

For my use, it's a visibility thing. I prefer the hard plastic handles, and try to get sets of them in different colors (ie. my phillips screwdrivers are bright orange, and the flats are yellow) makes it easier to see at a glance. I prefer the older handles, simply because I like the feel. Take last night for instance, I spent 30 - 45 minutes searching for my cotter pin puller. It's the only black handle in my box. Finally found it sitting on the bench partially covered, but enought handle sticking out I would have seen it easily if it had been a brighter color.

Being color blind stinks I can not tell the difference between blue & green. I tend to like the brighter colors because I can find them better in the dark places, but they tend to turn dark with dirty hands so every color just turns a dirty black.

I can understand the ocd part about wanting all the same colors but that is another story.

Honestly I think it has more to do with the "Collectability" over Visibility, favorite color, or any other "Excuse" we may give (This coming from a guy who chases the green stuff too ).

I think if it were a standard/everyday/normal stock color, it wouldn't be half as popular as it is. People chase it and "love it" cause if you can score some, its just plain cool...I bought a set of Green Rad picks just cause...well they were green...still in the cellophane wrap. Next time the green trim pad tools are available, I'm snagging a set...

Because I love green and I think Snap-On chose an awesome shade of green to go on their tools.

Absolutely everything Snap-On I buy will be green if I can have it my way.

Why buy something in a bland color if you can instead buy it in your favorite color?

I just like the color. Pretty close to Kawasaki green as well.

Dirt/grease will show more, but you should keep them all clean anyway.

I snatched up all the blue hard handle stuff I could get when they released some 2 or 3 years ago. Not that I have any great love for blue, but strictly because you don't see it often.

They're easier to see, stand out against grease & grime, and less common than all of that red or black.

Its something different. SO firetruck red and hunter green toolboxes get old. Hell my SO airhammer is high visibility yellow. Just because my dealer had that color in stock and it looks different.

For me it will be the ease of seeing it and I like the hard handles and if I spend the money I like the green color over the blue,black pink or white

And usually just to be different as to know this is mine because no one else has this color or here said tool

I did get a few things in blue, I had hoped that they were going to do them last Father's Day, but nothing. I have a couple of the flank drive plus adjustables in blue as well as a few pliers. I really would love the blue screwdrivers and those hammers were awesome looking.

That's sweet. I got a pink KRSC246. As far as colors go I don't really have a must must have, what ever he has works for me. I got green, blue, red, orange, pink and white.....I will say wish they'd make more white cause it looks the best, when new anyway lol.

I have a mix of many colors. I have a bunch of orange, some green, some red, some yellow and some black. It would drive some of you nuts that my sets have some mixed colors from when they get warrantied with whatever color he has on the truck. I just got an orange pick made up for a green one. Doesn't matter what color as long as I can see it. The black is too easy to lose in a dark interior or out under the hood.

Sometimes it's just about having another colour to differentiate different tools quickly.

My hard handle ratchets tend to be red if fixed head, green if flexi, and orange for roto, it's great being able to find the one you want quickly on a busy bench!

I tend to buy other Snap on stuff in green, rather then red, for a couple of reasons. Partly because I like the colour, partly because everybody else I work with has red so I can see instantly if anything is 'borrowed', and partly (as Exceller8 alluded to) there is something special about the Snap On green - you open the box and the tools look like they're floating there!

Ok its just a *like* thing then. I prefer the classic Snap-on CHROME tools. Easy to clean, old school cool and usually less expensive then comfort handles.

We need a "The Chrome Snap-on Tools ****" thread!

I didn't know if the SO Green was limited edition or collectable or worth more $$$ or what. I was asking too because I see more posts about this color more then any other.

I had, keyword had, a nice set of black hard handle screwdrivers that I have lost due to them blending in inside an engine bay.

I have some green Greelee screwdrivers now that I got from Menards. I haven't lost any yet.
