I'm really assumed by this thread.
I run a vehicle/equipment shop for 30 years in Maryland. I supply all the tools for my mechanics and they are not to bring in tools of their own (this is for the protection of their personal tools). I will not buy HF hand tools because of their poor quality nor Snap-On because of they are over priced (as well as over-rated). As far as buying these products on a personal level .... you buy what meets your needs. If the $5 tool works as well as the $50 tool for you it's a no brainer IMO.

There are many good opinions on here but I find the "Buy USA" ones funny. My steel workshop/garages are metal building (Carolina Carport) but it seems many on this site have issues with anyone who invest in this USA product.
Go figure.

Everybody crying and talking about Imported products and why they are not made in USA. Ok first of all imported products are cheaper because of cheap labor. If made in the USA it would cost ten times more. We as consumers all want to pay less for good product. Here they have to be made by union worker. Then they want benefits such health care retirement vacations Ect Ect. Plus one thing people don't know is if you want to sell a product in China it must be made in China. That is over a billion people they market to compare to over three hundred million people. The same people that cry about imported tools being cheap quality drive Toyota and Honda and these are excellent vehicles. That you can get over three hundred thousand miles out of them. Not to mention the money they save on GAS. I own all truck brand tools and I shop at Harbor Freight frequently and they have some products just as good as truck brand tools.
Just my opinion.

I am a Toolaholic,Sometimes I regret it,Especially when the Toolman won't give me no credit

Guys don't buy that Chinese made stuff. I want you yo set and yhink about something before you buy anything that is not clearly marked U.S.A do you realize that all Chinese industry is wholly owned by the Chinese military? You see nothing is free or even cheap in life. Every time you buy a tool from the Chinese who hate you btw. That dollar is going into an army that is set to kill you and your family.

It's called the 50 year plan. Look it up

Much better for use all if you who can't afford American made metals to hit cregslist ebay and your local flemarkets and yard sales. Also if you don't know this people trade ussed tools back to the trucks all the time. But please stop buying from the Chinese military.

You may not want to buy gas, then http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052970204883304577223083067806776

Harbor freight along with wal-mart, McDonald's and any other minimum wage jobs should be seen as stepping stones. If you work your **** off and show up on time, you will either get promoted or find a better paying job while you are working there. There is always a job in America for a "true" hard worker, and for you skeptics, check out www.us.army.mil

There may be tough times... but those who are persistent succeed.

I buy all sorts of tools from every country and every store. I LOVE free market capitalism! God bless America. :rocker:
