Why is the battery light blinking?

3/8" Milwaukee Cordless Ratchet

While I was using it, the battery lights are blinking, what does that mean? The battery is fully charged. It's not overheating either.

On my makita stuff when it blinks on the tool its either out of charge or the battery is screwed

Are you sure your eyes aren't opening and closing?

after trigger release it will briefly blink, 1-4 leds, 4 being fully charged

Does it shut down when the lights are blinking? Mine does that. I think it is overload protection.

My M12 fuel impact driver just did this last night. I agree... I think it's overload protection as I was pushing it hard at the time.

My M12 tools will flash all the battery lights if the battery is nearly dead or if you run the tool too hard.

Guys, the battery is fully charged. The battery or the tool is not hot. The 4 red LED starts blinking and it makes a beeping sound when the tool stop spinning because it cannot open a nut. This is normal correct? The tool is not defective?

I believe so. Mine does the same thing. Wish it had more power to work with before it cuts off. A fuel version maybe? Milwaukee? Please?

The "work" that got my Fuel impact driver to light up like an tree was driving a 4" wood screw....I think I hit a nail in the framing and the screw stopped moving dead in its tracks and caused the impact driver motor to lock up. Definitely an overload protection situation.

Before and after that the driver worked fine. But now I have to go find one that can drive a screw through a nail, clearly the 12V Fuel isnt powerful enough
