... 3/16 is an obsolete size very nearly a No.12 IIR, then 10, 8, 6, 4, etc, for smaller "Machine Screws"
3/16 is a wee smidge smaller than a #10.
The numbers start at 0.060" for #0 and go up by 0.013" for each number. #7, #9, #11, and #13 are totally obsolete, #14 is extremely rare, and #3, #5, and #12 are unusual.
0-80 UNF: 0.060"
1-64 UNC/1-72 UNF: 0.073"
2-56 UNC/2-64 UNF: 0.086"
3-48 UNC/3-54 UNF: 0.099"
4-40 UNC/4-48 UNF: 0.112"
5-40 UNC/5-44 UNF: 0.125"
6-32 UNC/6-40 UNF: 0.138"
8-32 UNC/8-36 UNF: 0.164"
10-24 UNC/10-32 UNF: 0.190"
12-24 UNC/12-28 UNF: 0.216"
There's also 00, 000, and 0000 UNF screws. I don't recall the pitches for those off-hand, but I believe they are 0.047", 0.034", and 0.021".
