I did, too. I have two doors, but only one door was randomly opening. The installer gave me the usual lines - must be somebody else in the neighborhood (there isn't anyone else with 1/4 mile), air traffic overhead, etc. I pulled the batteries on all the remotes (3) and still had the same random openings. I started turning off the breaker (openers are on a dedicated circuit), and eventually installed a switch in the line.I had this issue:
Liftmaster Ghosting
I have a three-car garage with three Lift Master 3800PLD openers. I have an intermittent problem with mainly one door which will open by itself every so often. It’s been doing it for the past four years and is worse in the cold weather. I have had one of the other doors do it also, but not in...www.garagejournal.com
That was not the conclusion that I was drawn to.Great, Thank you both for sharing your experience , I'll replace control panel. Do i need to change the Garage Door Keypad( outside) as well ?
Yes, I should have mentioned that. Pretty simple to disconnect. Probably not all that uncommon, though, if you can buy a replacement on Amazon and it has 1300+ reviews. That was not the conclusion that I was drawn to.
If you think the wall switch is the issue, simply disconnect it to confirm and see if that solves it before you buy another. Obviously that could cause it, but seems a little "uncommon" to me.
No, you have to change to wireless code your opener uses to communicate with your remotes. There's a button on the motor housing to erase the recognize remotes and re-pair them with the motor. This OUGHT to change the code they use / the code the motor recognizes. Thus it will ignore your neighbor's remotes.Do you mean, I have to reset the pin code, i use in pin pad to open garage door ?

Eventually it dawned on me - maybe it was the wall controller. I mean, it should just be a simple switch, and it worked fine when I pushed it, so how could it be? Well, it was. A new wall controller and all is well again. What's disappointing is neither the installer nor any of the many Google search results mentioned the wall controller itself as being a possible solution.
That keypad is basically another remote. Should be good.Great, Thank you both for sharing your experience , I'll replace control panel. Do i need to change the Garage Door Keypad( outside) as well ?
Hope you don't forget to slide the latch over before hitting the button.I dont have one of these 'randomly opens' openers but after reading all of the threads about them, I bought a manual door lock and installed it on my garage door. I want there to be a zero chance of my garage door randomly opening.
