Why we do not like engraved tools...

I present exhibit A below, as good reason for not liking engraved tools. When I purchased the wrench at a 'market it was so dirty I could not see the inscription. A mineral spirits bath cleaned it up, and behold! I do not even want to contemplate what this wrench was used for.

I etch all my tools. Has stopped me from taking another person's tools a few times and vice versa. (End up with a few peoples tools together, same brand and sometimes stuff gets mixed up)

That's an abbreviation for Analytical Laboratory. (You can see the period after "****".)

at the shop I just started at, this guy's tools has "F*** OFF" etched into all his tools.
I asked who's do these belong to when I saw one of them. I was told the techs name and
and after I gave a wtf look. The guy told me "yeah, one time he left a tool in a customers car and this lady came back w/ it yelling about what kind of a shop they run among other things" lmao
...but he did end up getting the tool back :D

My buddy labels all of his travel mugs as follows:

"Scott: HIV +"

For hut and camping trips (where pee bottles are not uncommon in tents) I always write "PISS" on my scotch bottle.

So this thread has morphed into the "rude tools thread." OK, let's ride this horse in the direction it wants to go.

Remember that band called "Tool?" Remember that special combination wrench they had, with TWO box ends on it? My question is: Did anybody ever make that tool in actuality? Or was it just a graphic image?

I'm not posting it here in case the kiddies are reading, but you can see it at Wikipedia if you type in "Tool Band".

I work in an **** Lab and mark all of my stuff accordingly. Our trade journal is **** Chem, our team is the **** team, etc.
After 12 years, I still get a laugh...
