Wide Jaw Pliers

Who makes a good wide jaw pliers (besides a linemans pliers) to fit the stupid pinch type hose clamps? The small ones. I already have a pliers/cable tool for the radiator hose clamps.

There are slip joint's that are notched on the jaws for those clamps. Short of that a smaller pair of Channellocks.

Duckbills usually work for quite a few sizes of the small ones Hook.
Channellock 718's have always been a favorite of mine.

I'm sure there are other suitable pliers out there and folks will know of them.

I use a pair of craftsman pro slip joints. They do the trick just fine.

+1 on the slip joints (I also have cman pro's)... about the only use i have for that plier!

i use channellock gl series as the v shaped jaws really bite hoseclamps plus i prefer them over regular jaw slip joints!

I filed a longitudinal groove into the jaws of a large cheap slip jaw pliers, keeps the spring clamp from jumping out. Works great. Channelocks good too but you need clearance to do them sideways, my home made tool goes straight in.

edit: Sorry, no pics, I went out to grab it and I have like 15 pliers but not the one I want. It's too cold in the garage to do anything right now, I think I'll go out and get a heater today. This is the last winter without insulation and heat out there, gotta get a comfy place to hide from the wife.

Did you mean the round-wire Corbin clamps? I thought you were referring to the stamped spring steel clamps often used on fuel and vacuum lines w/ 3 little flat fingers that must be compressed at the same time.

I'm meaning the flat 3 finger clamps. My pliers average 3/8" wide, and so do the clamps. You have to get them on perfectly, or one finger of the clamp always jumps out.

Damn, I didn't even notice the price. I just googled glass breaking pliers. The ones I have are Knipex.
