I have a BendPak XPR-10 (a symmetric lift) lift on it's way to me - can't wait...no more working on my back on cold concrete!

Anyway, with this lift you can configure it in 2 different widths when assembling it - a narrow configuration which has 105.5" between the columns and a WIDE configuration of 118.5".

Trying to decide which way to go. I have room for either, but the narrow configuration would be a bit easier to live with.

My widest vehicle is a 2015 F-150 (80" wide) and I will not have any vehicles wider than this anymore.

I understand that wider is better, (i.e. easier to get in/out of vehicle) but is 105.5" between columns to narrow? This is my first lift.

Thanks!

I installed the same lift few months ago in wide configuration. Go wide if you can, I'm a skinny guy and find it a tight squeeze on some vehicles.

I went through this same thought process when installing my 2 post asymmetric Rotary lift. I spoke to the lift dealer about the choice and he said the narrow setting was for situations where there was no way to fit the lift otherwise.

You should think of the 2 options as Standard and Narrow.

Go WIDE ! A standard truck is still tight on the wide set up. It is a ***** on the narrow.
The wider the more room you have to work under the vehicle.
I used to have both and we used the narrow to work on small and midsize vehicles
