Ive got a 60 gallon Husky (Campell Hausfeld) compressor I bought used. It was only a year old at the time and like new.

The unloader started leaking air when it would shut down. I pulled the tank check valve and noticed 2 peculiar things.

1, the compression fitting on the check valve didn't have a ferrule. Under the nut was filled with RTV. How could it not have had a massive leak?

2, I assume the check valve utilizes a check ball to seal it. I say assume because there is nothing in the valve but a spring. The check valve is 100% intact. There is no way for this missing check ball to have come out.

I can't figure out how the compressor could work properly for 7 years without a check valve. It makes no sense???????? :headscrat
