A co worker of mine got that one off the truck too, an orange one. Putting some oil in it should stop the random spinning, at least it did for him. He only kept it for about a month and a half before returning it, that thing sucked and it's pretty freakin big too.
Maybe others have had better experiences with them though.

the one hes got is pretty strong and ill tell him about oiling the trigger. he doesnt use it for wheel lugs he uses it to break stubborn bolts loose and it works great for him but i have never heard an impact, or any air tool for that matter that sounds the way this one does.

One of my co-workers had one that looked similar to this but I think it was yellow or orange, I forget, it was years ago. I remember his had a different sound also but that's cause it had a silencer feature that could be switch on & off for more power.

I had one, I don't remember what it sounded like. but traded it in about a year ago for the newer. I use the new one only for stubborn bolts. I use a smaller light wuieter mac gun for most things now. That S/O gun is WAY To heavy and loud

The XT7100 has a dual chamber air motor which gives it the weird sound. This also means they need a decent amount of airflow to perform well. Quite a powerful gun when hooked up right.
