I have Verizon Fios and I ran coax to my garage
I took my router from the house and hooked it up and the set top box and got wifi and television shows.

Does anyone know can I just buy a verizon router off ebay and connected it even though I have the one in my house

Or suggestions appreciated

You can't have two routers on the same FIOS fiber link. At least not in the way you're looking for.

With your existing coax, you could probably put a set-top box in the garage and have TV service, but if you want a wifi source out there, you'll need to setup something different.

One option is to setup a mesh wireless network. This will require that you buy wireless access points that are made for this. Ubiquiti makes the UniFi access points that can do this and they aren't terribly expensive ($185 for a 3-pack). This will require a little networking knowledge to get setup, FWIW, and will only work if the garage is close enough that the access points can reach each other wirelessly.

I installed a Ubiquiti Access point on the main floor in my house. My garae is seperate from the house about 50ft away in the backyard. With that access point I get wifi in my garage. They are great devices. The specs said they are good for something like 600ft. Not sure if I believe that but in case it worked for me.

I just bought a Netgear EX6200 WiFi Range Extender. The garage is about 300 ft from the house and the existing WiFi couldn't get a useable signal out there.

Only took a couple min to set up the extender and now have full signal strength in the garage.

I simply ran a Cat5 cable from the wireless router in my house out to the shop into another wireless router. Works like a champ.

Yes you can have two FiOS routers on the same FiOS network, but its not as simple as just plugging in the 2nd router. Here is good link to do the setup: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/verizonfios/3.2_MOCA#16793

but if you just want wifi in the garage, the Ubiquti AP as mentioned is a great choice.

Your total coax length for all runs can not exceed 400 ft. when using a moca bridge

Ubiquiti equipment is awesome! I use their airstation to create point to point wifi links over 2 miles and get really good reliability and speeds.
