Wiha VS. Snap-On/Mac screw drivers

Alright guys, Im in the market for a new tool box, and would like to pick up a few new things as well. My question to all of you is, how do you like the Wiha screw drivers against the snap-on or mac hard handle screw drivers??? I dont like the feel of the Wera drivers in my hand, but really thinking hard about the Wiha screw drivers. They seem to get good rating on here, but would like a direct comparison. Thanks in advance!!!

I find them to be slightly more durable than the Wera drivers. They're very good quality IMO.

If you are looking for a grip that best fits your hand, then try all three.

If choosing between the two truck brands, I'll always choose Snap-On due to ease of warranty and any issue with the tool I may have. BTDT. Mac trucks are like Sasquatch sightings in my area of 2.5 million people.

If looking for something that is a quality product but will see medium use but not beat on , then I suggest Wiha if looking for a lower cost but = high quality solution.

I LOVE the way my MAC's fit in my hand. I also really like the feel of the Snap-On's. We dont have anything around here that carries Wiha. I dont like the feel of Wera. If I was too go with Snap-On, I would most likelly buy the Williams branded drivers, as they are much more affordable for me.

Then buy the Wiha's and be done.

Unless you have a Mac or S-O driver that loves you and your route (if you have one) so much they will warranty everything including your sister's virginity, then go the Wiha route.

Good tools for a good price re: Wiha.

I really like my Snap-on soft handle instincts but you might also consider the Williams hard handle... they are the previous generation Snap-on hard handle style. From a warranty stand point; the snap-on would be easier to warranty.

Any of the three are worthy screwdrivers.

In my neck of the woods, on the streets and freeways, I see multiple Snappy and Matco trucks daily. Mac at least once a week while Cornwell is the Sasquatch.

Absolutely LOVE my WIHA screwdrivers. I got them off of Amazon...tons of selection and good prices. I have a set of 3k blue screw drivers that I peiced togethor.

I have SO hard handle, new indistinct handle and Matco.

I like the Matco better than those two.

I prefer the Williams (Snap-On) hard handles due to how easy they are to clean up. For starters they are excellent drivers but also importantly they clean up nicely. This past weekend I tore down an old chainsaw and cleaned it up real good, even put a new ring on it. Got chain oil all over the workbench and covered my screwdriver. So easy to wipe up. I can't imagine a rubbery grip cleaning up as quick and easy as my plastic hard handled ones.

blade wise, i like snappy and wiha. it really comes down to the handle. I liek snapon's VERY old triangle handle. it is comfy in my hand. I dont care for the new handles or hard handle design but deal with it. id trade off all my snappy screwdrivers for the older triangle ones if i could find them.

I do like wiha's soft grip handle. blade wise, no complaints but i am aware that when i finally break one, i willhave no waranty where the snappy has one. b/c from what i know, wiha haslimited waranty, snappy is lifetime.

so really, try them both.

Oh, as for mac, i own them too. my home garage tools are older mac red hard handle. they get the job done and dont sell worth **** used. Hence why my home set is mac. As i buy out retiring guys and keep tools/liquidate the rest. Being i could never resale them for any money, i kept them for home use and sell off the other used brands for the $

Alright but Kleins are the best screw drivers. They have the best tips.

I have both Williams (SO hard handles) and Wiha in the same drawer and find myself reaching for the Williams every time. Nothing wrong with the Wihas, but the Williams just feel great, comfortable and you gan really torque them without discomfort. YMMV.

I have the Wiha 3K blue torx screwdriver and I wasn't impressed compare to Wera and SK screwdrivers....I much rather buy FACOM/SK type screwdrivers or Wera over Wiha... even though I bought some of the Wiha tools last week... just think the quality and design of Wiha is a notch below Wera and old SK.

I've got a couple of Wihas laying around and I use them for things like opening paint cans and mini-prybars. I can't stand the "ergo" handles on them and I'm really not too impressed with the warranty after one of the guys I work with sent in two pairs of clearly defective snap ring pliers, and was told that they were misused and therefore not subject to the "100% satisfaction guarantee" (both were on their first use when a tip sheared off).

Of the three you listed, my money would go to Mac.

The Williams hard handle feel like the old Snap On hard handle but perhaps are a pinch lower on finish quality. Zero complaint with them.
The Wiha feel good in use and are of excellent quality, haven't broken any so no warranty experience.
No Wera or Mac here, no thanks.
Snap On Ratcheting are kind of expensive but oh so exquisite in use.
I reach for the Williams when high torque is necessary.

Or you could do what I do and buy anything that is on killer sale and end up with too damn many screwdrivers. I think I'm the king of sub $20 premium screwdriver sets. The stupid thing is that a bit handle with a decent set of bits would do 90% of the time.

i like the wiha 3k drivers i have, for the price there hard to beat, not used them at my workplace so not to sure about the overall durability though, as they get light use at home, seem on par with wera and mac, possibly even snap on (only have a torx set and one plain one)

Snap on instincts are really nice blades are fantastic, and they look good, i currently only have the comfort ones so keep them for 'clean' jobs' as the rubber gets grubby easily, probably buy the hard handle versions next year.

i do like my old mac drivers, but as there is no dealer here now there almost impossible to get, and if you have any other colour than red ones there nla sadly (hence my search for green ones continues...)

I guess its all down to how you like the feel of them and how they sit in your hand lol, if you have big hands the instincts are better id guess as the handle is thicker then the mac ones

wiha have about 50 different styles of handle tho so you can take your pick..

Its pretty clear there is no definitive answer. I know for a fact that I love my MAC drivers, so I will probably stick with them, or buy William (I also like the feel and fit of the Snap-On's). I dont have anyone around here with Wiha, and looks like everybody likes there own setup. Thanks guy!
