I'm in the market for an inch pound torque screwdriver and was checking out what Wiha had to offer. They have 21 pages of web specials. Some of the prices seemed very good. Top left corner lists pages to the web specials. Might want to check it out.

For Wiha products, you might also want to check out kctoolco.com (they also offer the specials). They sell Wiha's full line, and are typically less expensive than buying directly from Wihatools.com. Amazon is worth checking too.

As per in-lbs torque screwdriver, there are a few good brands. Wiha are nice, but I don't like the idea that you have to use another tool (included) inside the tool to adjust the setting (something to misplace/loose) vs. something like a locking collar.

Don't know what your budget is or the range you're after, but you might want to take a look at CDI.
Pricing example.

Thanks for the info. They also on the "look at" list.
There are some other brands also, such as Utica (what I actually use; picked up a NOS cheap on eBay some years back), or Mountz (formerly Stuyvesant IIRC). Not sure of what brands you're considering.

Hope this helps a bit more.

I do like mine BTW, but it was made in 1984 (back when Triangle owned them), so not necessarily representative of what's being made now (since Cooper got ahold of it).

Although the same can be said of Lindstrom (electronic cutters & pliers) after they were acquired by Sandvik (now Lindstrom is part of Snap-On <SNA Europe>, which also owns CDI).

Check the reviews on Amazon for the CDI 401SM I linked (granted, the sample is small, but it does demonstrate that bad units do reach the hands' of users).

Nanofrog thanks for the info on kctoolco.com I was not aware of them.
 NP. :)

Another really good Wiha vendor (other things too), would be micro-tools.com.

I've bought all of my recent Wiha stuff from both of these vendors, as I no longer wish to use Amazon (directly, still OK with 3rd party vendors that fill their own orders) over a dislike of how they run their order fulfillment centers (use 3rd party labor service contract companies to claim ignorance of poor working conditions).

If COO is important to you, just make sure you know what you are getting. Some of this Wiha stuff is not made in Germany and is made in Vietnam or outsourced to another company.
