The “my tool colors must all match AND be funky” crowd has contributed to $€£¥ millions in sales for tool companies and even greater debt.

I have never seen such foolish eagerness to part with hard earned money just so that a hand tool can be viewed in a preferred shade.....

It’s completely ridiculous.

Yes, Matco blue handles look nice. But my gosh......
As a bottom feeder of secondary market tools… not caring that your tools are a certain color or that your socket sets match is freeing…

I know, and am related to, men who will not buy used tools because would not match their other tools or they are already “scratched up”…

I have tho opposite approach. I would have a tiny fraction of the amount of tools that I have if I needed my sets to match.

I think those relatives of yours need help.

There's nothing wrong with wanting matching tools. If I'm buying new, I prefer matched sets. Used, I'm far less picky. With the pry bars for example, I have 3 out of the 4 that I want that are black, and the one I'm lacking is available in black, albeit from a different vendor, for reasonable cost, so why NOT get that one? I'm still able to build the set I want for less money than buying a full set from Lang, Wilde or Tekton.

The red non USA ones, did they have striking caps?

Back when I bought my HT Wilde USA scraper, all they had was red handle Wilde USA prybars (I already had the Craftsman Wilde pry bars). That was quite a while ago. Now all I see in stores for the Wilde USA ones are black handles & no more red. Website still shows red though for the Wilde ones. The red pry bars with no striking caps aren't USA. Maybe they changed the USA ones to black to differentiate USA & non USA?

The red ones came in a three pack in plastic safety packaging. They only had one USA in store and it was the 36 inch and it hung without packaging. I can't recall if the red ones had striking caps or not.

The red ones that Walmart currently carries in three packs do not have striking caps and they are made in China or India, I can’t recall which.

I may have missed it, but what all sizes are the hyper tough black handle made in usa pry bars come in, I have found 17, 25, and 36. All in for about 35 bucks. Are there any others I should be looking for?

That’s all they carry now. They used to have an 8” and maybe a 12” as well.

So on walmart.com the only USA ones showing are

36" $21.88
25" $10.88
17" $9.88

Some folks want matched either brand or color.

Some want more sizes.

HJE, which I suggested, has Wilde in red as follows:

36" $22.50
31" $20.00
25" $15.50
17" $10.80
12" $9.75
4" $9.60

Will be a shipping cost (although you can get cool box art). Prices not all that different if you want a bigger matched set.

Happy hunting to all!

HJE it is then lol .
No idea why I didn't fully milk the craftsman from the display stand as they where a stupid cheap sale deal back in the day and kind of nice buying and using a new craftsman tool that bit of Merica :)
I broke my own rule of milk the too cheap good tools to max benefit :-( generally take spares for stock cupboard for tools likely wear out/break and some stuff extras as gifts, those Craftman branded bars are both quite nice gift potential and good in the spares cupboard .

Another option are the Mayhew Dominator, which are likely the same as the Craftsman Professional that Sears offered for a while.
5 piece set on Amazon for $96 or the 3 piece for $68.

I have both the regular red handle with sticking caps 12, 17, 25, 31, and 36 inches (Wilde) and the black handle Craftsman Professional (Mayhew) in sizes 8, 12, 17, 25, and 31.

Forgot to mention, I bought all of these when Sears was giving out points like crazy in 2018 and 2019. Have less than $100 in them. I prefer the black handle pro versions they had a more comfortable grip and flex a lot less than the red hard handle ones (Wilde).

HJE also has the Craftsman 3pc set if someone is looking for that particular brand:

Wilde came out with a new 45" bar earlier this year. I bought one from HJE but can't seem to find it on their site. I'm wondering if maybe they are out of stock on those?

You can also buy the 7pc set with rack directly from Wilde for $148

First-hand picture a couple weeks ago. The individuals on left were made in USA. My Wally of choice didn't have all sizes. The multi-pack was made in India, I think. I did get a made in USA 36 to complement what I have.
