I have had one for years, and I do a lot of cotter keys. I don't think I have ever pulled a key with it. I use it for a lot of things, but I can never seem to find a key easy enough to pull with it.

Vise-grip and hammer seem to be my solution, maybe it is what I end up working on.

Vice grips are always good.

I like this one since it's so long...a lot more leverage to pry 'em out.

so it's a pick with a thicker shaft basically?

i myself prefer a good pair of dykes(snap on 388cf) and a hammer to get out stubborn ones...and yes i hammer on my dykes haha

I have the Craftsman one but I've never used it for cotter pins... Makes a nice hose pick.
