Wilde Tool roll pin punches?

I need a new set of roll pin punches, are Wilde Tool sets good to go...or would I better off with a generic set? Thanks!

The Wilde are nice. Price is pretty good on those. I bought my brother the Craftsman version and they look nice, but I have no long term update on them.

My 3/16" from a Craftsman USA set is a bit rounded down after 10+ years of infrequent use. No experience with Wilde. I think Enderes lists RPP too.

Wilde set is holding up well. Roll pin punches have a little *** on them not to be confused with pin punches.

Wilde is good at a good price point. I also have Grace gunsmiths roll pin punches and they are equal to Wilde.

I haven't used the Wilde roll pin punches but I recently bought a set of their chisels and a couple alignment punches and I'm really happy with the quality for the price. They're pretty nice.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Wilde. I've used them on the farm for several years and they have held up well. A real value in today's market.

I bought a used set of Snap-On which I believe are rebranded Mayhew. I also have Western Forge. WF don't make as many sizes but they're a hex shank which can come in handy if and when a punch gets stuck so you can twist it free. I have to clamp the Snap-Ons in a vise grip in the same situation.

I bought mine thru Epstiens, punches OK, but the plastic pouch was falling apart, cracking and splitting, but the punches are fine. Give the good folks a try, Harry Epstiens is a Wilde dealer.

I bought several individual Wilde to build AR style rifles. I think they have been used on complete builds and modification or about a dozen rifles carbines and SBRs no issues

Don't forget about Enderes, purchased some punches on the group buy awhile back and totally abused the 5/16 extra long pin punch last fall and it held up extremely well. I'm very happy with the sets I received and one of them was a roll pin punch set.

I got this same set about 3 months ago. I am not very pleased with them. They seem kinda soft. My first use I noticed mushrooming on the pin end. filed it back to size and tried it again on another roll pin with the same results.

Ditto! Got one of their punch sets last year too on the group buy. They are very nice and stout. Plus it's a great small, made in USA business to support.

One thing to be aware of about Wilde is that not everything they sell is manufactured by them. You cannot determine the manufacturer by looking in the Wilde catalog however all items in the Wilde price list that are in BOLD type are manufactured by Wilde.

Checking the RS906 it is manufactured by Wilde.

NVM, thinking pin punches… haven't used any roll pin punches. Always just used pin ones for roll pins on my tractor and my vehicles never had roll pins, just solid ones (like pads retainer pins…. LONG).

Wilde manufactures tools for other brands.
I may have to get me a set of those Wilde punches. I keep looking at their chisels too. I have the Wilde pry bars and they are awesome, good grips.

I personally have Snap On roll pin punches. I also have some Craftsman. However, I don't care for those very well.

But I do have several other Wilde punches. I've always been very satisfied with them. I've often considered buying a set of Wilde roll pin punches. Especially since they offer the larger sizes most.

I'd say go for them. You can usually find them for a good price. They're a good product, U.S. made and lifetime warranty. What else do you need?

I could see a magnetic end punch being handy for that purpose. Not much o.d. matching, nor centering needed when starting one.
