Does anyone know much about Williams round head ratchets? Has a previous thread discussed them?

New or old design?

The old design is a dual-pawl mechanism. The new design uses a single pawl design, similar to one used by Facom and SK.

And yes, there are threads on the topic.

Copy and paste these into google for more info:

There are a lot of members with more know-how on Williams ratchets but I purchased an S-53A 1/2" drive--15" long ratchet over a year ago and it was described as a 'dual pawl-72teeth gear ratchet'. I haven't had it apart but it is a current model on the Williams website . It is a great ratchet and was my first higher tooth count ratchet in 1/2" drive--all my 1/2" SO are older.
