Will coating over pits cause performance issues?

Getting ready to coat with the Epoxy Master solids kit sourced through Costco. I used an Endco grinder and acid wash for prep. The floor is 18 years old and has some pitting from road salt. I don't care if the floor is glass smooth, I just want a floor that doesn't absorb spills and is easier to clean up than bare concrete.
If I don't fill in all of the pits, some of the worse ones shown in the attached pic, will I sacrifice durability of the coating? I would really rather not have to to fill the pits because I would have to skim approximately 30% of the 2.5 car garage.

Thanks in advance!

If well prepped, there is likely no impact on adhesion. However, keep in mind that the top edges of the pits will be more susceptible to damage from impact or abrasion as they are effectively high spots. The pits will also trap debris or water when squeegeeing out after cleaning.

Put down a nice thick coat or re-coat and be sure to put on a clear top coat to keep it nice. Pit's deeper then a 16th" I would fill with a quick drying concrete patch. if you throw some colored flakes in the base coat that will hide most of the pitting and imperfections in the floor surface.

Have fun with it and take your time.

One word of warning. If you have a high water table moisture migrating throu concrete can effect adhesion. An easy way to check before coating is to tape down a piece of clear visqueen about 18" square. check it in about 24 hours...if you have visible moisture on the sheet or the floor you may have a problem with the epoxy adhering.

All of the divets will show through the epoxy. I really suggest taking the time to fill. It will look like the epoxy covered them but after it hardens you will see everything. Good luck
