Will Grainger warranty tools?

I'm not finding much on their site, and my local store is closed for the holiday. I have a Channellock 447 and a larger Klein flat blade screwdriver that I need replaced. Grainger carries both, so I'd like to do a one-stop-shop deal if I could.

What other B&M store would be able to warranty these for me? I don't have a tool truck to go to. :dunno:

Yeah but you have to spend a boat load of money with them and still be willing to be hassled to no end.

If your Channellock 447's are actual workmanship and material failure, you can warranty them direct with Channellock. Their warranty will not cover normal wear and abuse though.

Just send it in right to Channellock. Follow the online instructions for warranty submission and sit back. Easy peasy. Unless you feel like warranty is kind of "iffy"

I avoid that place like the plague. Those guys have snobbish attitudes and their favorite word is NO.

YES they will. But if you can't prove they sold it to you, good luck.

About six months ago I broke a socket I bought through a former employer through them. The first time I contacted Grainger (email, don't have a Grainger rep anymore) I ran into a brick wall -- guy was no help, gave no answers at all, wouldn't even send me a form letter about warranty policy.

Then about a month ago I tried again, what the hell I thought. I'd already replaced the socket with a Mac. I got in touch (email again) with a woman who knew the deal and was eager to make the transaction positive. All she needed from me, apart from the item number, was my former company's name and a ballpark purchase date. She found the sales record, and less than a week after first contacting her I got a replacement in the mail. Didn't even have to send in the broken one.

For what it's worth, she did phrase her reply as though it wasn't a problem when the necessary warranty item is a relatively inexpensive one. I'm imagining if I had a couple-hundred dollar, 70 pound item I'd probably have to go to a Grainger brick and mortar.

Get ready to have half this site tell you you used it wrong lol!

I didn't use them wrong...but I am not the original purchaser :lol_hitti

That's even worse, right? Haha!

Thanks for the info. I'll look it up on Channellock's site when I get home from work. What about the Klein's? Same thing? Doesn't Home Depot carry Klein?

Don't know about the Kleins, never warrantied any but judging from the recent nut driver thread it should be pretty easy to submit a warranty claim.

Channellock never asked me for a receipt. Good thing because I don't have one....they were a gift.
