I'd be surprised if it wouldn't. The #1 fluids pumped out of barrels is either gasoline or diesel. I don't recall using that particular one but I've used many for that purpose.

Thanks. I want to put up some gas in 35 gallon plastic barrels for this winter. Last winter we had the great Michigan blizzard and blackout and the gas stations were low on fuel and it was getting expensive. I happened to stop at a garage sale on the way to work today and saw this pump. He wanted $20 but I gave him $10. It does have a little kinking inside that sounds like it could be a beebee or something (check valve?). Anyway. I'll try it out. I see it can be dismantled if nessessary.

Are you allowed to keep large quantities of gas at home ?
In England we are restricted to 30 litres ( about 6 gallons ) , not a bad idea really , during our last fuel crisis some daft sods were keeping gas in open containers , one daft woman blew the **** out of her house after filling jars up in the sink , then she lit the oven !!!!

Anyway back to the pump, fuel pumps generally have a lot of brass for the moving parts ,
Check it's suitable for highly flammable , one spark and 35 gallons would make a rather loud bang

The USA has no restrictions because we have the freedom to blow ourselves up at any time.

I would prefer not to store gasoline but I have read plenty of stuff that says it is not a bad as many would have you think. Good plastic barrels are very durable and full barrel does not contain fumes...and all that ****. So I just want other peoples experience in storing gas and your opinions.
