SER is not permitted to be ran underground. It will turn into a mushy toothpaste like substance.

You can use #2 al MHF or individual pieces of al xhhw- 3x #2 and 1x #4....

MHF needs to be in conduit indoors and above ground but conduit is recommended for the entire run.

xhhw needs to be in conduit panel to panel- the whole length...

Ok, thanks guys. Does anyone know what size conduit I will be able to stuff the MHF in? I am guessing 1.5"? I was hoping 1" but I figure it would be to tight?

1.25" is minimum for 2-2-24 MHF. 1.5" is better for ease of pulling wire through. 2" is a breeze. I suggest to use at least the 1.5".
