Will this Vacuum pump work for a mini split?

I've been trying to find someone to vacuum my Senville 24k lineset on the side but I've been having trouble getting someone so I figured I'll just order the rest of tools I need and do it myself. I already own a vacuum pump I had bought when I replaced a A/C Compressor on a car I used to own so I was hoping to use it if I can but it's small 1.5cfm pump. Basically just like this one here except my specs show a larger oil capacity of 8oz / 22ml:

Does anyone know if this will do the job and be able to vacuum it down to 200 microns or whatever is necessary? I don't care if it takes longer for the pump to get the job done, I'd rather not have to buy another pump if I don't have to.

Thanks!

If the pump is in good shape and you use new oil each time it should work fine. However they only way to know for sure even with a premuim quality pumps is with a micron gauge.

Size of the pump only come into play on very large commercial systems. A larger pump only helps on the draw down time. It does not typically speed things up as it still takes a good shift (or day if you want it really dry) to pull the moisture through the small orfices and such. Cfm is meaningless for smaller residential systems.

Excellent! That you Firebrick. That is all I needed to know. The pump is essentially brand new almost. I only used it once to vacuum a car A/C and it's just been in the garage ever since. I already ordered a CPS Micron Gauge. Now I just need to figure out what size ports the pump has and order a hose and couple of other things and I should be good to go. Appreciate the info.

I used my cheap harbor freight car vacuum pump for my minis. Even though it is newish change the oil is what I was told. Napa sells small bottles of pump oil for cheap.

I also used my car nitrogen setup to test the mini.

You can try renting one from local auto parts stores ( Autozone, orilleys, etc). Might need line set to finish the task, many stores rent those as well.
