will this wiring setup b a problem ???

currently my garage lighting is as follows:

finished garage
1 switch, (2)4 lamp t8 fixtures which we call A & B which are mounted more to the back end of the garage.

i want to add (2) more 4 lamp t8 fixtures C & D closer to the front of the garage


is this wiring setup gonna work ????

Switch to A to B to D, and then C wired to A


or does it have to be, switch to A to B to C to D

A diagram of what you are suggesting would help.
You can easily run 4 or more 4-lamp T8 fixtures off a single switch, but how you do it is that they are all in parallel, with the hot/neutral/ground running from fixture to fixture with each unit grounded and each ballast tied into the hot/neutral (black/white) wires.

As long as you wire black to black and white to white it'll work fine no matter which fixture is connected to the other. In the end they're all in parallel.
