...like Seal-Krete Epoxy Seal beneficial, unnecessary, or downright NOT recommended in this case? I'll have used muriatic acid on a new home slab.

I have 4 epoxy kits, which is enough for 2 solid coats on my garage.

Do not use Seal-Krete Epoxy Seal. It's a latex paint and not an epoxy product - despite the name. The two are not compatible.

A primer would not be required since SuperCoat is a 51% solids epoxy. It does not go on as thick as the higher solids commercial epoxies. However, it you applied two coats the first would act as the primer coat or "ugly coat". The second coat would go on thicker and have a more consistent finish since none will be absorbed by the concrete.

Thanks Shea. I'll be doing the work next weekend, so there is still time to return the SuperCoat, if needed. Would 100% solids Epoxy-Coat be a better option? Budget keeps me from being able to get Armor or Nohr-S, so Epoxy-Coat seemed like the best in my price-range.

Would you recommend of SuperCoat? IF SO, would I still do an "ugly coat" with the Epoxy-Coat?

IMO, SuperCoat is slightly better than some other water based products such as EpoxyShield, Valspar, and other inexpensive home improvement store type of DIY epoxy paint kits. The Epoxy-Coat is a much longer wearing product than the SuperCoat. If you go that route then a primer coat is highly recommended. Most of the vendors on the forum such as Legacy, ArmorPoxy, Garage Floor LLC, etc. sell epoxy primer.

Would a coat of the SuperCoat be a good primer? If I get a clear Epoxy-Coat, would a base color for 2 gallons, medium flakes, then clear EC top for another 2 gallons be a workable solution?

Two coats of SuperCoat, medium broadcast color flakes, and then 100% solids clear should be a workable solution. It will make for a long wearing floor. Just keep in mind that manufacturers don't like to warranty product that has been used in conjunction with other brands unless they have tested and approved it. Be sure to check the recoat window for the SuperCoat.

I liked the super coat. Easy to work with, long pot life, inexpensive. I just installed it 3 weeks ago, so cannot speak to durability. I did two coats of base, medium flakes, top coated with their basic acrylic clear, two coats of that as well. I found the 250 per gallon to be right on for coverage of the epoxy. One can of acrylic did 500 sq ft, but I went pretty thin which is why I did the second coat.

But, thing to know that it’s pretty thin compared to a 100% solids so lots of imperfections show through if the light hits it the right way. Flakes hide a lot of that but not all. Still looks good.
