I bought this Williams H-50 3/4" ratchet about 10 years ago without a drive plug in it and just figured I would eventually find one. Well 10 years later I bought a tool box and low and behold there was a Williams H-150 3/4" drive plug stuck into a Plomb LA 1" socket in the bottom of it. I went and found the H-50 ratchet and when I proceeded to insert the drive plug it was to small? :shocking: I must have stared at this thing for 5 minutes wondering what I was doing wrong until I took a wire wheel to the grime built up on the ratchet and see where it is stamped "Special". Does anyone have any idea what this ratchet was built for with its female end being larger than 3/4" and not able to accept the 3/4" dive plug? Does anyone else have one of these "Special" ratchets? Could it possibly be a 1" drive ratchet now?

Good to know. Williams made a lot of custom tools stamped SPECIAL. I don't recall Williams having any 7/8" drive but Snap On did. Maybe someone needed a ratchet to use with their Snap On or possibly some other brand that had 7/8". Not sure if anyone else made 7/8"
