Looks like you just unscrew the big lock ring to disassemble/clean/lube... any special instructions before I rip into it?

That's it. I don't have a spanner that fits, so I used a punch to loosen the ring. Don't hammer on the punch, I placed a screwdriver between the punch and square drive and loosened it that way.

Well I had a few minutes to play with it today and it came apart like buttah. Looks like it was rarely used if at all. Scroe! It was actually locked up solid when I got it but after spraying some Liquid Wrench in it the old hard grease in there loosened up and all is good now. Will soak in Diesel to clean it out and start over with fresh.

Had to run to an appointment so I didn't get a chance to actually clean and lube it. I have some Redline Heavy Shockproof, Redline assembly lube, Super Lube, and Mobil 1 chassis grease all at my disposal. Not sure which would be preferable for a 3/4" ratchet?
