maybe this should be for the tool truck equivilant thread.
i know new britain made tools for blackhawk, S-K, husky, and others.
earlier tonight i was going thru my old sockets and i found one that made me take a closer look.
it's a NONE BETTER. made in USA. i think i picked it up for 50 cents at a local pawn shop.
i look a little closer w/ a magnifying glass(yeah, us old guys need those sometimes) and it also has the circle NB logo. hmm..none better? new britain?
i'm curious and look at other sockets and pull a williams socket. snap-on brand i guess:beer:
anyhow.both are 1/2 drive sockets. 7/8
NONE BETTER pt# T1228
WILLIAMS pt# ST1228

i aint trying to raise up or put down any brand tool maker.
just tossing out this info for y'all.

None Better as well as Husky were brands owned and manufactured by New Britain

good stuff!

also, Williams was around for 36 years before there was any such thing as Snap-On.

My main 1/2 SAE set is a None Better, box and all. Dad bought them most likely 50-60 years ago. I don't use the ratchet anymore but the rest all get used.

I'm not sure that the part numbers mean anything... 1228 = 1/2" drive, 28/64" hex (keep in mind that back in the day, at least prior to WW2, there were 64th inch sizes in common use larger than the 11/64" where we usually stop today, so likely wrenches and sockets were still made for a few years afterwards in those sizes for people maintaining/repairing old equipment)

now as others have posted None Better is New Britain, but I don't know of any NB/Williams connection (but I'm willing to be corrected!)
