Hello all, this is probably a sad first post, however I wanted to be sure before I broke a tool.

I am just now starting to acquire tools and getting a tool box soon. Part of my recent purchases was the Williams ratcheting screwdriver. There is a spring inside the shaft that prevents the bits from going in far at all. Unless I hold them in the shaft they won’t even stay. I tried to take a photo, however due to angles and lighting it’s difficult. Hopefully I attached them correctly. I am thinking by some fluke craziness this spring ended up in the shaft by mistake.

Get the spring out, or send the tool back?

Just for the record I have not contacted Williams tool company about this yet. Purchase made from toolsdelivered.com

That spring does not belong there. The magnet which should be holding the bits has grabbed that spring. Pull the spring out with tweezers and it will be good as new. It's not a big deal.
