I recently purchased a set of Williams sockets and the 1" socket has the 2015 Snap-on date code on it...

Fairly common, Over the years I've seen Williams, Kobalt, Harley Davidson sets with SO date codes.

Williams USA sockets are the same as Snap-On (and Williams Taiwan is are the same as Blue Point). They claim an extra level of polishing on the Snappys, but owning both, I can't see any difference new or after use.:dunno:

My Williams 1/4" drive deep metric set came with a 6mm Snap-On socket on the rail.

When buy Williams, don't automatically assume you're get SO with Williams name on it, although the lines are bluring. USA Williams is a top notch top maker before SO owned them still to this day. From what I see of their offerings, the current line is traditional Williams offerings and old SO designs like the 36 tooth ratchet and hard handles. My tool box will find more and more Williams, but it will be slow because my SO industrial rep is such a dink. It's too bad because the deals SO industrial runs in conjunction with the discount I get, make tech school discounts look like ****.
