Williams vice

Has anyone ever seen a williams vise 6" jaws and 110 lb

Can you read the numbers next to No. in the raised area. Thats where Columbian put their model number. That one is Columbian's 606.

It could have been a Columbian knock off and an old one.

There are knock-offs, private label manufacturing and merger/acquisitions which account for the same vise being sold under several different brand names.

In the past, the vises were more likely to have the different names cast into them. Later, they were more likely to use peel and stick labels.

Starrett bought out Athol a hundred years ago, but I don't think Starrett still makes their own vises. Snap-on has used someone else's vise with a peel-n-stick for many years.

Whatever it is, its nice! If the jaws still have teeth, consider a set of copper liners for it.
